Today Spotify started to play songs shuffled when playing on another device (Sonos), although I'm a Premium user. Another similar issue was reported, but got merged into an unrelated issue about Premium playing ads. That didn't happen for me. After several logout/login attempts, I can disable the Shuffle button (e.g. on a playlist), but only the button, the songs are still playing Shuffled. The status bar still shows the shuffle button turned on but disabled, with the previous song button being disabled too. Both Desktop (Mac) and iPhone apps are affected. Please fix ASAP!!

My Question or Issue
Since Feb 25 my music on spotify is in random mode, with out even have the mode on, I dunno what I need to do , to play my music what I want, I try to enable and disable random modes , and the music still in random mode.
I have a premium plan ... 😞
Hey! How are you?
Even if you've already tried to enable/disable it, try again and see if the option is being applied correctly. Close Spotify completely and open it again!
Keep me updated.
Cheers,
ribezaz
ty , I try many solutions, at the end, I need to delete cache and unistall app on desktop and my celphone, using spotify only on my phone and still in random mode and nothing works. T_T

I get this issue only when I connect to an external speaker system (in my case sonos). I lose all premium features when do, it forces smart shuffle and I can't go to the previous song. On pc and mobile it works fine, but when connecting to sonos it goes wrong.
Same, only shuffle play when connected to any Wifi speaker, be it any through Alexa or directly for example Sonos.
Started today or at least I realized it today.
I had the same problem, and none of the solutions from previous posts in different threads helped. In my case, the issue was that I had Spotify connected to my Sonos speakers, and the shuffle feature was enabled in the Sonos app. Because of this, Spotify couldn't disable shuffle mode. As soon as I turned off shuffle in the Sonos app, I was able to toggle shuffle/unshuffle in the Spotify app again. So, if you're experiencing this issue, check whether other apps connected to Spotify might be causing the problem.
Same for me! On Sonos, since today
Hey folks,
Thanks for reaching out.
Can you check whether Shuffle is disabled in your speaker's app (Sonos, Amazon Alexa, etc.)? If it isn't, toggle it off and see if that fixes your issue.
If it persists, or if you don't own a smart speaker, please let us know so we can investigate further.
Cheers,
Same issue here. Spotify is acting like the free version when I pair with my Sonos. I can't play albums, shuffle is defaulted, I can't even queue albums. When I disconnect to just my laptop it works ok. What the heck, Spotify?
Hey @1212540718,
Thanks for reaching out.
Can you try logging out and back in a couple of times and/or re-linking your Spotify account in the Sonos app to force a re-sync?
Let us know how it goes.
Hi,
For anyone facing the issue please try this:
From the Spotify app, log out the wifi speaker from Spotify connect and reconnect it.
This fixed the shuffle issue for me.
Hi!
i noticed that I can select songs if I am listening from my iphone. As it should be with premium subscription. However, the minute I want to listen in my living room via wiim, which uses spotify connect, I cannot select any songs in a playlist as if my subscription was not premium…
surely I dont need a duo-premium subscription to get all features working properly with spotify connect devices?
