Cannot cast podcast with video to Chromecast or in Android TV app

My Question or Issue

I haven't been able to cast any podcast with video to my screens connected with Chromecast since months ago. Now i got an android tv device from the local internet+tv company with the Spotify app and it doesn't play the video. What is goin on? This is absurd, i used to be able to watch videos from podcasts on my TV/screens with Chromecast before!!

You guys need to solve this, you have some exclusive video podcasts on your platform and don't support casting videos?!

Shame!! I am thinking of stopping my subscriptions and fully move to YouTube Music .

@OscarDC There've been about a dozen reports of this on the board over the past week. The issue began happening at the exact same time for everyone (about a week ago). Please escalate this to Spotify. It's not user error.

same here problem started about a week ago i have tried everything(restart network, different accounts, un/reinstall the app, different devices). I dont get it this has never happened before.

This is happening to me too, suddenly unable to cast video of the lex Friedman podcast.  Moto g60s.

Some updates seem to cause this on occasion.

Same issue here in 2024. I can watch podcasts w/ video on my phone but as soon as I cast to the Spotify app on my new Samsung Smart TV I can't get video. Same with my older Samsung Smart TV, it used to work a few years ago with Spotify video but no longer.

Annoying issue when you're paying for Premium and have all brand new devices.
