Discontinuation of app on LG TVs

I post this here because the tech person was only able copy paste the usual non-information.
Currently the Spotify app on LG TVs has been discontinued. Supposedly because new exciting solutions are being worked on. An app that doesn't work is not particularly exciting, so why not let the old app run until a new solution is ready?
