My Question or Issue

I primarily use Spotify via Alexa devices throughout the house. I hate having her start my liked songs only to always hear the same starting song for the 1000th time, then having to stop and tell her to shuffle, then tell her to skip. Is there a way to not only have shuffle=on be the default on startup, but also do so before the same first song in my list plays?

Hi there @Fogyreef,

Thanks for the post.

Currently there is no way to enable Shuffle play by default or let the app start from a random song every time you play the same playlist.

We've made sure to pass on your feedback about this to the relevant teams at Spotify, who're working on making the app better.

Cheers.

Thank you. In case it's not self-evident, it should be basic functionality
to let users decide what to listen to and how with regards to their lists.
Forcing someone to hear the same song played first every single session is
an unforced novice-level error in judgement. I look forward to the patch.
