You need to add the lyrics on Distrokid. It took mine 24 hours after I did that.
Hello @milomalrai,
You always have the possibility to put your lyrics on Musixmatch and have them published everywhere.
There is no need to pay for this, what you are talking about is probably Musixmatch Pro, and it is a related service, but it is not necessary for your lyrics to appear on Spotify or elsewhere.
If you transcribe and synchronize on Distrokid, there may be communication problems between Distrokid and musixmatch, so I advise you to check if this has been correctly communicated to Musixmatch.
I also advise you to take the steps to become a Verified Artist, then contact the team via the Slack dedicated to artists, or by email, you will get help more quickly.
Thanks for reading.
It seems that spotify does not give precedence to indie artis lyrics, I have the same issue, my lyrics are synched and verified through music match, they are on all other platforms but Spotify. I checked a lot of major label artist lyrics and they are all synched up nicely. Indie artist pay for service like music match synch lyrics and spotify has a hard time synching indie artist lyrics.
Hello 3SP,
There is no difference in treatment between an independent artist or an international artist.
The only difference is as you say that they pay for transcription, instead of their team doing it. This only changes the fact that other people are paid for it, but if you do the transcription yourself, it will be the same quality.
However, I insist that if you are an independent artist you must join the Musixmatch verified artist program to be able to submit your lyrics.
If you don't go through the verified artist program, your lyrics may take much longer to be published because they will have to go through a longer verification process.
Also check that there is no technical problem, or that you have Spotify Premium, the lyrics are not visible to all people with Spotify Free.
I have music match Prod, I delivered my lyrics via music match pro. The lyrics are delivered and I can view other artist especially major label artist lyrics which have the Icon but my songs lyrics the icon is not visible when the song plays. If I view an artist lyrics using the mic icon I can only view my songs lyrics by using another artist mics icon, because the icon does not show up for my song. So I view The Weeknds Lyriics I then switch to my song and there I see the lyrics jus as submitted, however when I finish listening to my song and I want to re listen I can no longer view my lyrics because the mic icon is not visible to my music. That is why I made the statement. This would never happen to major label artist, it only seems to happen to indie artist when it comes to things that are extremely important to them.
Full lyrics aren't showing.Why?
They can be slow. Took a week for me.🤷♂️
I still have 2 songs that don’t have lyrics on Spotify but the other 5 do, I even used Musixmatch to upload them but they were all uploaded on the same day. There’s also only one song on YouTube music that doesn’t have synced lyrics while the others do. None of the lyrics are on instagram and confused why they aren’t.
Musixmatch offers a free option to send lyrics out to all platforms
I use distrokid and its been over 2 weeks i uploaded my lyrics right away
I really can't overstand why they take money for posting our own lyrics!!
Do I have to go in and sync every song on every one of those platforms? This is the first I've heard of these other ones. I've been using Musixmatch. If I do this manually on every site, there are going to be slight discrepancies in time codes. How does that affect things?
