Issues streaming spotify to Naim music streamer

I have a Naim Unitiqute 2 plugged in directly to my home internet (with high speed bandwidth).

I have a samsung note 4 (connected to my home wifi), with a spotify app that features spotify connect.

Now, I am able to stream Spotify (max setting at 320kbps) to my imac or (wirelessly) to my samsung note 4 (and subsequently via bluetooth to various music devices) without any problems or fuss.

However, when I use spotify connect on my phone to select artists/tracks for spotify via my naim streamer (which is plugged into my big rig home hifi), the music I select plays for a few seconds (5-30) and then stops, and resets to the beginning of the song.

Is this a buffer issue? Its super annoying.

My version of this naim product is not the most recent one (where spotify now comes pre installed from naim factory), but rather the older version where spotify was made available via a firmaware update.

I can stream internet radio on my naim UQ2 without any issues. The problem is just when using spotify, which happens to be 90% of my home audio streaming usage. Please help. the Naim unit seems to be the problem, or is it my phone's connection via spotify connect to the Naim unit?
