Hey there, welcome to the Spotify Community!

This is unexpected. If you did not trigger this action, you can reset your password and log out from all devices to ensure no one else has access to your account. You can follow these steps to do the same:

  1. Go to Spotify.com and log in.
  2. Visit your account details page. You can click this link as well.
  3. Scroll down and click Sign out everywhere.
  4. Change your password using this link. You can also click the same option under the Security and Privacy options.

Once that is done, you can log into your devices and rest assured that all other devices are logged out. Do note that this might remove all your offline content as well, so you will need to download them again.

However, after this, if the random playback issue happens again, check in the Connected Devices section for any unrecognized devices. You can find it at the bottom near the volume controls in the desktop app.

Actions from your connected apps could have also triggered this playback. You can check which apps can access your Spotify account here (manage apps under the security and privacy section).

Keep me posted.
