I've the same issue.

As a workarround (unitl the issue is solved) you can put the podcast into a playlist and download the playlist. That works fine

Forerunner 265.  Software Version 16.17.  Spotify Version 1.6.5
Only affects podcasts. When I try to add new episodes and select a podcast, it gives the message "Unable to Get content"

I'm having the issue on my Garmin Venu Sq

Same here fenix 7

Same problem: while I am able to download playlists, I can not download podcasts on my Forerunner 255 Music.

Another small problem: the music player does not display minor parts of the usual graphics, e.g. the circle indicating the progress of the song going around the corner of the display has "holes". pretty sure this coincides with the problem concerning the downloads

so either someone fixed it (garmin or spotify) or i found a workaround. follow a new podcast on spotify - after that try to open it or any other on the watch again. should be able to download the episodes.

They fixed it, I am no longer getting the Unable to.. message

Confirming that the error is not coming up anymore

Hi Vasil,

I have the same issue as everyone else. Not able to download podcast when I was able to do it a few days ago. I have the Venu S2.

Seems to be working now.  Able to download podcasts on my Forerunner 945.

Nope. Only partially fixed. I can intermittently download some podcasts...other still give the "Unable to get content" message.

Agree that it is fixed — with a slight caveat. On my Forerunner 255 Music

1. I Went to the Podcast I wanted to download from and the screen continued to "spin".

2. I hit the back button and went to Podcast again.

3. I was then able to download the Podcast.

Forerunner 965 here and just having the same issues. Sadly putting the podcast episodes into a playlist isn't bypassing the issue, I still get the same error message. Hopefully they resolve this ASAP as I hate running with my phone.

Hey @Dazza_16,

Sorry to see you've been affected by this!
Have you tried the steps mentioned by @oldhosco?

If yes, could you let us know where things go wrong?

Many thanks in advance 🙂

Same here and the workaround does not work for my Venu 2. My WiFi connection with the Garmin is fine for everything but as soon as I start downloading a podcast (or playlist containing a podcast), suddenly the Spotify app decides there is no longer any WiFi connection.

Hey @KevynSmit,

Thanks for posting in the thread!

Could you give these following steps a shot to see if it makes any difference?

1. Log out from Spotify on your watch.
2. Delete and then re-add the WiFi network on your watch.
3. Turn your watch off and on again.

It's also worth checking if there are any updates available for the Spotify app.

Let us know how you get on.

I have the same issue as KevynSmit, but only on certain podcasts and not others. I have done all the above suggested steps, but the problem persists.

Hey there @user-removed,

Thanks for reaching out!

If possible, could you try connecting your watch to different network to see if the same thing happens?

Another option is to try reinstalling the app. It will ensure that you're running the latest app version as well.

Should the issue persist, feel free to send us a photo or video showing how things look from your end when you're trying to download the podcasts.

Keep us posted!

I have this same problem on my Forerunner 645. When I, on the Garmin watch, go to "add new music and podcasts", and select "podcasts", I see an old stale list of podcasts to choose from. Podcasts I have unfollowed still show up, and new podcasts I have followed (in the spotify app on my phone) don't appear.

I have tried uninstalling the Spotify app on the watch, removing the permissions for the Garmin watch to Spotify through the Spotify web UI. I have successfully completed "update downloads" sync (although that was also failing for a while - getting stuck at 0% without ever getting to any kind of error message).

I'm out of ideas for what else to try. Without the ability to download podcast episodes from podcasts I didn't follow in the past, my main use case for having the Garmin watch and the Spotify service isn't working.

Same issue here.

The Podcast list my watch shows is NO LONGER the list of my favourite podcasts that I follow.

It is the top podcast shows list on Spotify’s starting page.

Totally different.

I tried to uninstall and re install Spotify on my watch but it didn’t help.

Soooo annoying.

Hey folks,

Apologies for the lack of updates on our end.

Since the thread is a bit old and different issues are being described, please send us the following info so we can start a new investigation:

  • The exact model of your watch.
  • A detailed description of your issue along with a few screenshots or a video of how things look on your end.
  • Date and time the issue last occurred (including your time zone)

We appreciate your help!
