Re: Let's introduce ourselves!

Re: Let's introduce ourselves!

Since several weeks, even if I have a premium account, I cannot add songs to specific playlists - that was not the case previously - also if I wish to hear other songs than playlists I have I simply go to search or one of my playlist song's radio. Why do you add unsolicited songs to my playlists? Thank you

Hi there @DJNRTD,

Thanks for reaching out to the Community!

Let's start with the playlist first: it's possible that you're just following the playlist (i.e. it was originally created by another account). What you can do is make a copy of it from the three dots menu > Add to other playlist > New playlist. This would allow you to add or remove songs from the new playlist the way you see fit!

Tip: If you're certain that you've created the original playlist as well, it's possible that you have multiple Spotify accounts. This article will help you check that. In case you do find one, you can transfer your playlists by following the steps here.

As for hearing other songs that aren't usually part of your playlists, here are a few reasons as to why this might be happening:

  • Smart Shuffle - when toggled on, the feature adds song recommendations that match the vibe of your playlist. You can toggle it off via the 🔀 button. More info here.
  • Autoplay - when your playlist ends, this feature automatically plays similar songs so that the music never stops. It will not activate if you have Repeat 🔁 toggled on though.

In case you meant something else, feel free to share a screen recording which captures the described behavior in action so we can have a closer look.

Cheers 🤘
