Spotify Connect is not syncing the listening activity across devices

Spotify Connect is not syncing the listening activity across devices

As stated in the title, my Spotify account's Connect sync features have been disabled for one month. This means I can listen to several things at once on multiple devices with the same account (I don't think this is good for spotify's business model since this bug could be used to avoid paying for premium). I've tried logging on and off, uninstalling the apps and using multiple devices and platforms (Android, web and Windows app) to no avail. I don't know what else I could try.

Hey @fosco110,

Thanks for posting in the Community.

Have you tried using a different internet connection for Connect? You can try a hot spot from your phone.

What are the app version you've tried on the different devices?

Keep us posted,

Cheers!

Hi, I tried switching to mobile data as well as using wifi (from work and from home) and nothing changed. I'm using Spotify for Android version 8.8.44.527, and Spotify for Windows (32 bit) 1.2.13.661.ga588f749. The web version was just updated by removing the service workers and refreshing the cache.

Hey @fosco110,

Thanks for getting back to us.

The issue could be caused by VPN or private tunnel, since those re-route network traffic. We'd recommend turning off any VPN if you're using one.

On another note, could you please double-check if this affects a specific combination of devices (for example Android App along with the Desktop app, Desktop App and Web Player) or any connected device?

Hope this helps. Let us know how it goes.

Thank you so much for the reply. Unfortunately I'm not using a VPN, and the combinations I tried are: Android and web, web and desktop, Android and desktop, on two different computers but only one phone since I don't have access to more. Looking forward to a reply, thanks a lot

Hi again, sorry for insisting. Are there any news on this?

Hey @fosco110,

Apologies for the delayed response here 🙂
We're looking into what may be causing this and will get back to you as soon as we know something new!
Keep your apps up to date in the meantime. Thanks!
