Spotify keeps going in and out on all Alexa devices.

Spotify keeps going in and out on all Alexa devices.

No matter what we do, restart the router, restart the device, login and logout, it stops playing music about every 20 seconds into the song, and sometimes it pauses for as long as 20 minutes and then restarts and sometimes it pauses for as long as one minute and then restarts, there’s no rhyme or reason. I’m getting really frustrated about not being able to play music in my home.

Thanks for reaching out and welcome to the Community!

Could you give these steps a shot to see if you notice any difference:
 

  • Unplug the Alexa device for 30 seconds and plug it in again.
  • Remove the Spotify skill in the Alexa app and re-add it.
  • Reinstall the Alexa app
  • Connect the device a different internet connection (if possible)

Shouldn't that do the trick, can you send us some more info on what's happening from your end? Does it only happen when playing directly through Alexa using voice commands, or when using Connect from another device as well? Are you experiencing any playback issues on other devices that you use Spotify on?

Welcome to the Community and thank you for joining the conversation.

 

We appreciate your report regarding this issue. Just to cover all the basics, have you performed the process mentioned by @Maria in the previous post?

If so, and the issue persists, have you tried using a different Wi-Fi network to see if the issue persists? If you don't have another one, you can use a mobile data hotspot to test it.

 

Lastly, would you mind including in your next response if this happens when playing directly through Alexa using voice commands, or when using Connect from another device as well? Also, does this playback issue happen on a different device?
