I had been using the free version of Spotify and noticed that the stream kept getting interrupted (pausing). At first you'd assume a bandwidth issue my end. Unlikely as I am in a City and have a consistent 10mb connection.
Anyway to be sure I tried a well known UK competitor beginning with D and there was no issue streaming from them.
Must be the free service? So I upgraded to unlimited, still getting an interrupted stream!
I followed the uninstall and cache clearing procedure, the reinstalled and still no joy.
Currently I have a Spotify account that is unlistenable (if that is such a word) and I am having to use D(UK) in the meantime.
Suggestions?
Same problem here. Premium member. MacBook Pro Mountain Lion 20Mbps
It's been horrible for a few weeks now. Constant disconnects, slow loading, songs stopping to buffer. Any word on a fix for this? It's terrible, and I don't want to keep paying money for something I'm unable to use. I had better service in Spotify when I was over in the Middle Ease, behind government firewalls.
I have the same problem... sometimes its working and sometimes not.
Having the same issues the past 2 weeks. Many songs taking up to a minute or longer before a time code even shows up at the bottom then another 30 secs to a minute to even start playing, then cutting out after only a few seconds of play. Stop start stop start...
Searching for music taking incredibly long as well - just the "waiting" circle for a good while before results slowly populate the screen.
This has never been an issue and now it's consistent. Premium user with 50Mbps+ download speeds. No issues with my network or PC or any other application that uses my connection.
Only Spotify and only the past 2 weeks and it's consistently bad.
It's getting incredibly frustrating.
I'm a Premium member and I'm having the same issue for such a long time. Recently it became a daily / frustrating issue, it came to a point that I can't even listen Spotify and change it to songza or pandora until spotify streaming gets back.
I love spotify service but I would like to receieve the service for what I paid for. I find this very unrespectful for the people who actually pay for this service, though I've never received any message from Spotify regarding this issue (not even saying that they are working on this issue to fix it).
Dissapointed.
I too am experiencing the sound cutting out. Happened 6-7 times today just for 15 seconds or so. I thought it did buffering to avoid this.
I love Spotify, this is the first problem I have had....just happened twice more when writing this!! and again.. that s three time.
Spotify plese sorth this out. Its still silent.
I am also having this experience and finding it extremely frustrating. I am a premium member and the Spotify shuts down at least three or four times a day on my computer and about every second track on my phone.
Come on guys, this is obviously a problem at your end with so many compaints. You need to acknowledge the problem and get it fixed before you loose too many customers.
Yes I'm on unlimited... Although now its now very limited!!!! Please someone from Spotify can you help us. It has cut out 4 times during this text!! Is it just a bad day at Spotify or is this going to happen regularly?
There do appear to be some ongoing service issues (according to @SpotifyStatus):
spotifystatus: Thanks for your reports, we are currently investigating why some users are experiencing stuttering and slow playback. Original Message: http://twitter.com/SpotifyStatus/status/340133044121894913
Stay tuned!

Thanks for everyone's reports. We are looking into for you this at the moment.
If anyone else having issues could please post with your ISP (useful to have), we can send this information on.
I've got this problem for several hours now. Audio is constantly stuttering/cut out.
Premium user, Win8, 0.9.1.43, ISP is Vodafone Germany.
edit: at least the web player is working.
edit2: nope, web player is also stuttering....
I'm on Talk Talk in the UK, cutting out so much that it's unusable, past few weeks have had problems but it's getting ridiculous now.
Glad it's not just me.
Mine has been cutting out like mad for the past hour, rendering itself unusable.
I'm on Talk Talk as well.
Same problem here, streaming keeps cutting out.
No error messages, streaming just stops for a time and then starts again.
Premium user - though seriously thinking about leaving the ship if this problem goes on...
As theres nothing more frustating than music stoping in the middle of a song.
And i certainly dont appreciate the way Spotify is dodgin the issue.
I have checked and rechecked my connection and other p2p applications go famously.
Ponferrada, Leon, Spain
Movistar, Telefonica, 10 MBs
I had a bad few days but it's back to normal now so give it a few days. Maybe someone is fixing it in the background.
It's a great service when it works.... will report if it plays up again.
I've been having this issue the last couple of days. I have Sonos and I've been using Spotify premium with my Sonos player for several months now with no problem at all. All of a sudden songs are skipping, stopping all together and just in general not playing right! It is quite annoying! Any system issues? I've not made any changes to my home network. The only difference is I have a new laptop running Windows 8, but I've had it for a few weeks and the problem just presented itself in the last week or so.

Sonos are the best first point of contact if you have any issues with services on their platform 😉

I have reported the issue to them as well. Looking through the message board, it appeared that there can be a problem on the Spotify side causing the playback issues which is why I posted here as well.
thanks
I have a 15mb download speed (which streams apple TV fine) but streaming on my Mac, PC Win7 is very poor and when I download to Android and iPhone not much improvement (although Android is worse) and I am on a Premium account. Really bumming out on reliability and may move if this does not get fixed or at least substancially improved, c'mon Spotify.
