TiVO Slide Pro Remote Keyboard

Tivo sells a upgraded remote with a qwerty slide-out keyboard, which is very useful for searching. When you can't use the keyboard, you need to navigate around with arrow keys to enter text - cumbersome and error-ridden. This keyboard works with all tivo functions and external apps (pandora, netflix, ...) EXCEPT Spotify. Spotify otherwise works fine, except entering text is bothersome. Tivo verifies the problem, and says the functionality is missing in the spotify-provided app, which seems likely.

Note: The earlier, discontinued version of this remote, the "slide remote", apparently had this problem as well, but it continues with the current model.

Does Spotify have any plans to fix this?
