Does this program not even have a basic feature that shows which playlist a song is in? And people who forget which playlist they added a song to have to search through every single playlist in the middle of the night like they're looking for a black cat? I can't tell if this is a playlist or just a collection of things I accidentally dragged and dropped. Honestly, Spotify is a giant in the music streaming world, so it's pretty much that they don't even have this feature, right? Even if implementing this feature is difficult, shouldn't it just be a given?
You might want to believe otherwise, but yes, I did check the community guidelines. It says not to use offensive language. Yet I feel like the very absence of this feature is an offensive to music lovers. I even feel betrayed. I gave up on creating a playlist years ago, and I suppose I should be grateful it wasn't hard to figure out why?

And as I mentioned earlier, Spotify, you're an industry giant. don't you even have customer support centers for different languages? A quick search shows how much you rake in annually, yet you have no intention of allocating budget for customer experience? i saw posts in Turkish and Portuguese and Spanish barely get any likes or comments. "Spotify's official language is English?" Do you only do business in places like the Commonwealth? If I travel to somewhere like Sweden or Luxembourg or Spotify Camp Nou and say, “Why don't you know English?”, does that make those people changes to ignorant of the ‘official language’? Or is this just a roundabout way of telling users unfamiliar with English and English culture, “If you don't know, just keep quiet”? Isn't this "offensive"? or it's ok cause just "defensive"-aggression?
Oh, I forgot to mention one thing. I'm not very good at English. So I used DeepL to translate this and just copied and pasted it. If anything feels strange or rude, it might be because the translation didn't turn out well. Thank you for reading. 🙂
Hey @KonglishMan,
Thanks for reaching out. We're sorry to hear about your experience with the service. We understand your message well and we'll do our best to address your concerns.
In regard to the ability to see which playlist a song has been added to, note that this is already possible by accessing the track menu (the three dots on the right of the track) and selecting Add to other playlist. You'll see a list of all the playlists you've created with a green checkmark next to the ones that already contain the song.
Furthermore, we'd like to assure you that we offer support in our private channels in all the languages you've mentioned, though the Community is a place where we gather Spotify's collective knowledge and we find that English is the most suitable one for such a knowledge base. We also offer our support site in many languages - feel free to check them out at the bottom of the page here.
We hope you'll find this info useful. We're here if there's anything else you wish to address!
1. The PC version doesn't have that feature.
2. The feature you introduced is just an FAQ. I know that much. It's not a 'human' who can judge for themselves and think, 'This problem needs fixing,' like you do.
Hey @KonglishMan,
Thanks for following up with more details - we appreciate it!
The steps listed in our previous message applies to the mobile app (sorry for any confusion here!). To see which playlists a song has been added to on desktop, hover over the song in a playlist and click on the checkmark next to the song. A list showing your playlists should then appear.
Example from desktop app Example from Web Player
On another note, just to make sure we're on the same page, we offer both messaging and email support in multiple languages. You can send a private message to our team via this page. As a heads-up, you will start off with an automated message while reviewing your request. If you don't get your questions answered there, you'll get connected to a human for further help.
Hope this clears things up!
Maria, it seems you already know what I want. I suggest this: Rather than using well-packaged words to say it's ‘an existing feature,’ I think it would be quicker to simply acknowledge your company and program's mistake.
1. Yes, as you mentioned, the green check mark on a song means it's in a playlist. However, it typically indicates a song you've liked, and to see which playlist it's in, you have to click on each song individually. I only recently switched my music listening app to Spotify, so I only have about 2000 songs in my favorites list. Do you expect me to have perfect memory and think, ‘Oh, this song is in the Korea-Male-abc playlist’? Couldn't you just add a column related to playlists on the album detail page or the list of liked songs?
2. Providing multilingual messaging and email support means English is also supported. Why do you think there are so many English users in this community? Why do you think many game forums support multiple languages?
Hey @KonglishMan,
Thanks for adding some more info around your points! I understand the situation much clearer now.
Currently the green check mark is indeed the only way to go to see if a song is in a playlist - not only in Liked Songs, but any other one. You are right that a click is needed to check that info. Your thoughts about adding an extra column are nice and we do appreciate your feedback on the feature.
On your other point about a multi-language community - we would love to be able to help our users in their own language in all our support platforms, and for now we have only been able to do that in our private channels. Yet Spotify is always growing, and maybe in the future, we will be able to add more officially supported languages to the forum as well. We do listen to all users' voices and keep track of highly discussed topics so that we can build our roadmap ahead, so any and all comments are welcome.
Thank you for engaging with us and elaborating on your post! We are always here if you have more feedback or questions.
If the given song is already in some of my playlists (green check mark next to the title), I do not know which one it is after I open the "add to playlist" submenu. I suggest placing the same green check mark next to all playlists (in the submenu) the song is already in.
This would save unnecessary mouse clicks in the case I try to add the song to the playlist it already is in. This way it would be more user friendly.
Hey there you, Yeah, you! 😁 Welcome - we're glad you joined the Spotify Community! While you here, let's have a fun game and get…
