Video podcasts not playing video

Video podcasts not playing video

Video not playing on Android, browser(chrome) and MacOS desktop app.
I saw a hint on Android that it wasn't playing because of data saver mode. However I'm hooked up to wifi across all devices. I checked my settings, and the data saver for video isn't even turned on. (Stream audio only setting)
Seems like a cross functional bug where spotify has the data saver (audio only field) set to true.

Same problem here, black screen and audio only. Untill a few days ago i could watch video from spotify with chromecast. I uninstalled spotiy on al my devices. Installed it and result is the same. Video works in the app on android, on desktopapp, online. When i connect it through chromecast, the screen is black and audio only. All my other apps (youtube, discovery, hbomax etcc....) works fine!  Spotify please look into this and fix this. I think it is a bug in the update.

Same issue here. Video plays on Samsung Galaxy S20 but just shows a black screen when casting, never an issue on this device before.

I tried mine again today, and it works OK. Didn't notice an upgrade on the app or anything. But glad its OK again.

Still not working on Its Always Sunny, on the Spotify app for Iphone and the chromecast app

Guys, if you have the same problem, press the me too button so the staff looks more at the issue

Update?

Hi everyone,

We are aware that some podcast episodes for multiple shows are not playing. Our tech folks are currently working on resolving this issue. We don't have official information when exactly this will be fixed, but we'll post here as soon as we have more news.

Take care.
