how to get playlists out of a folder

there is a feature that allows you to create a kind of folder to put your playlists in, however i cannot find a way to get them out of there because deleting the folder also deletes the playlists

Thanks for reaching out about this and welcome to the Community. 

You can remove a playlist from a folder by clicking on the playlist title on the left menu on the desktop app or web player, and dragging it out of the folder to the main list. This is currently not possible in the mobile app.

what was said doesn't work (Mac Computer) - there is no hierarchy open to drag to.

WHAT DID WORK for me was right click the playlist, go most of way down to 'Move to Folder' =>  'Remove from Folders'
