when i go into spotify om my computer the music plays on my computer but not on my bowers & wilkins the icon to transfer sound from computer to devices is not to be found

I don't belive Spotify supports external sound devices, unless they are connected via the Audio out socket.

Oh, wait. I believe you have to use the interface provided by the third party hardware to use it 🙂
