Can I swap to Premium for Family if i'm travelling?

My Question or Issue

Currently I am using spotify premium. 

I am consindering switching to Premium for Family, so that my family can also listen to Spotify. Since I am currently away for a few months and not at home, I am not sure if the family option is even possible.

Can I switch without problems, and use it together with my family? Or, does this not work because I am currently travelling around?

I mean my home address is still where all other people in my family live.

I just upgraded from single to family and there are lots of warnings about members having to reside in the same house. I travel a lot for work, but my residence is still the same as my wife. So if Spotify were to check my location by my IP address while I'm on the road, but my wife is listening back home, is Spotify going to boot me off, or cancel my account?

I'm not working for Spotify so this might not be a legal/rightfull anwer.
But as far as I know, Spotify only checks the address, on signup.

As I take my laptop and phone (which have 2 different accounts on them, other than the rest of my family), all over the world without a problem.

Hi @nelpha, thanks for writing!

There's some more information on Premium for Family here.

I don't advise you to start a Premium for Family plan until you're back at your home address. If you try to start the plan while travelling, the system will "think" you don't live in the same address of your family.

Your family can always start it without you, and then send you the invitation when you come home 🙂
