Family member is able to disable the explicit filter

Family member is able to disable the explicit filter

So, I upgraded my account to a Family Plan to be able to have personal accounts for my kids and filter out explicit content as advertised. I did that from the "Manage your Family plan" page.

Imagine my surprise when I hear my son listening to explicit content. It turns out he's able to disable the explicit filter just by entering his phone's password !

He has my old iPhone 6 that he uses as an "iPod" (just for listening to music).

Please tell me how I can disable him from removing the filter I set up.

Hey @adetroost ,

Thanks for coming to the Community.

It's possible that your son is logged in to your account, allowing him to disable the filter. I recommend logging out from everywhere with these steps.

You can also restart the device and then to try disabling the option with these steps.

If that doesn't help, your son can try logging into his account on another device to see if the issue still exists.

Let me know how it goes 🙂

I have the same problem. My son uses his own account within Family plan and he can change the filtr with no problem... He uses Spotify Lite. Whats up with that?

Hey @ceznov,

Thanks for reaching out!
Premium Family manager accounts can control the Explicit content settings of member accounts.

If you manage a Family plan, you can allow or block anything with an explicit tag for the others in the plan. Here's how:

  1. Log in to your Premium Family page.
  2. Click on the member you’d like to allow or block content for.
  3. Switch Play explicit content on or off.

Note: Make sure your son is logged in to their own account and not yours 🙂

Hope this helps; cheers!
