How to play each users playlist on Echo without stopping another users?

How to play each users playlist on Echo without stopping another users?

We have setup a family account and each of us have a separate profile. Each time I play a playlist on my echo device it stops another users in my family echo device. How can we play our playlist on our separate echo devices at the same time? We also setup separate profile in Alexa but the problem persists.

Hi there,

Thanks for reaching out. This all depends on which Spotify accounts is linked to each specific Echo device. You can only play Spotify on one device at a time using the same account, so if the same Spotify account has been added to all the Echo devices, playing music on one will interrupt the playback on another. To listen independeptly, each Echo device must be linked to a different Spotify account.

Hope this clears things up.

Thank you for your reply. We all have separate profiles on the Family account. We have a total of 9 Echo devices in the house. This happened yesterday, if I play my favorites on my Echo device in my office, then my wife wants to play her favorites in the living room, it stops my playlist and will play hers and vice versa. We have set up separate profile in the Alexa app as well. I am tech savvy but for the life of me cannot figure this out. We are coming from Amazon Music and never had any of this complications. What the actual steps necessary to perform for me being able to say "Alexa play my favorites" in my office echo then later for me to say the same thing in the living room without stopping someone else playlist as well as my wife being to play her music in the living room and while I'm playing mine in my office at the same time?

I do have a strange behavior:

I do have 4 Alexa Echos. I do have an Amazon Family (Household) Account, added my Husband and my Son (as Kids Account).

I do have a Spotify Family Account with my Husband added and also a Kids Account for my Son.

The Echos are attached to my Amazon (Household) Account.

My Son plays Music on his Echo (Attached to his Kids Account) in his Room. When my Husband starts Spotify playback with his Account on the Echo in the Livingroom the Playback in the Sons Rooms stops.

Same with the Music playing (with my Account) in the Kitchen.

Any Idea how to fix this?

Hello. The following only happens when I'm in my car with the android Spotify app running in the background with the music paused: simply opening the app automatically brings up the "now playing" car-mode full screen and the music unpauses itself and starts playing. This is extremely frustrating as I use Spotify for work as an Uber and Lyft driver, and this issue creates problems for me when working on a consistent basis..... I've already looked through my car's manual to make sure it wasn't a setting on the car. Please help!!!
