Re: Multiple Family User listening at the same time

Re: Multiple Family User listening at the same time

I signed up for the family subscription assuming that meant we could all listen to our own music at the same time and not be bumping each other out.  This is a terrible set up if we still can only listen one at a time.  Will be cancelling subscription.

Hey @sushicube,

It sounds like all family members are trying to use the same Spotify account to listen to music at the same time. To be able to listen to music at the same time, all family members need to have their own Spotify account. If they don't have a Spotify account yet, they can sign up on http://spoti.fi/2e1FH6k.

You can learn how to invite family members to your Premium for Family plan here: https://support.spotify.com/account_payment_help/premium_for_family/premium-for-family/

We have the Family Account but as far as I can tell, only one of us can
listen at a time. Defeats the purpose for us. Seems like it's best to go
back to a Premium account for me, and free accounts for them I guess.

I understand that but you all still have to use seperate account's to be able to listen to music at the same time.

It isn't a Family "account", it's a Family "subscrpition" which is where I think you are confused. Every family member needs their own account (with a username and password), and then the primary family subscription holder (you, I assume), invites those accounts onto your family subscription (directions as posted above). 🙂
