Spotify Connect - Multiple Speakers/Devices

Solved!

Spotify Connect - Multiple Speakers/Devices

My son has recently discovered the joy of using an Alexa device to listen to music in his bedroom. Unfortunately, that stops music we're listening to in the living room since all the devices were linked to my personal Spotify account. To get around that, I've created an account for him on our Family Subscription but when I go to play music on the Alexa device with his account logged in on my android, it doesn't show up as an available Spotify Connect device. When I log in with my account on the same android, it does. How can I disassociate the Alexa device from my personal account so that my son can play to it?

Using the dot as a bluetooth speaker is a workaround though, you're not actually using the functionality of Alexa and the household profiles.  What if the kids don't have their own devices?

Hi, other than the Bluetooth workaround, are there any other ways to assign individual Spotify accounts to dedicated echo dots? I want my daughters to be able to play songs on their own echo dot from their own Spotify account.

I cannot find any way to have multiple Spotify accounts on Alexa.

You can ask echo to "connect to spotify" and from their device, the can (in
spotify) click on devices and connect, this gives them the ability to play
on their spotify account.

Thanks for the reply. But with alexa now connected to my daughters spotify account, will that prevent me or any other spotify account holder from playing music from their spotify account through different echo dots?

When you tell Alexa/Echo to "Connect to Spotify" it does it for JUST that
session of music, your regular connected Spotify Account in the Amazon
App, stays as the primary account. I do this ALL the time with my family

Thanks. I think I'll sign up for the family package and give this a try.

Thanks for your help.
