What is the difference between “downloading” and “saving” a song?

What is the difference between “downloading” and “saving” a song?

For premium, what exactly is the difference between “downloading” and “saving” a song? I’ve seen some posts on here about this, but none have answered the question.

Hey @leburby Welcome to the Spotify Community!

Downloading means it will download the song to your device, Saving means it will remember the song/playlist/artist so if you want to find it easier in the future you will be able too!

Happy Listening

Hey @leburby.

Thanks for coming to the Community!

We have some more info on downloading here. Downloading your favorite Spotify tracks, albums, and podcasts to the app means you can listen to them without an internet connection on Premium.

You can also check out more about saving to your library here.
This is a great way to keep track of your fav music. You can save a maximum of 10,000 songs and albums to Your Library.

Hope this helps!
