My Student Plan changed to Premium Individual

Note: I currently use Spotify in two devices: my phone and my laptop. That's why I included both of them below.

My Question or Issue

Good evening. I've been subscribed to the Premium Plan for Students for a couple of years now. In some ocassions, I've cancelled for some months and then subscribed again because of some personal issues. Until yesterday, I was subscribed to the Student Plan for the past 8 months, which I understand that the period of renovation (12 months) hasn't been reached yet. Today I realized that my subscription plan changed to a Premium Individual one without any sort of notice. Therefore, I was charged the $5.99 of said plan. I would like to know why this happened or what may be the possible reasons that caused this and how can I solve it. Thank you for your time.

Thanks for getting in touch and for sharing that screenshot (I’ve removed it, so that your payment details stay private).

 

From what I can tell, it looks like your Student discount wasn’t cancelled and has simply run its full course. The discount lasts for 12 months, and based on the payments shown, it seems it just expired—which is why your plan has now reverted to Premium Individual.

 

If you check your receipts page, you’ll be able to see the regular monthly payments over the past year.

 

If you’re still eligible, you can re-verify your student status to get the discount going again.
