Studen premium country doesn't work

So I am currently registered as a student in the United States, however whenever I try to subscribe to spotify student premium, the US does not show up as a country. 

Does the discount not work in the US? The research I've done on the internet seems to suggest it does.

I am currently in Europe, but for example Canada does show up as one of the options.

Does anyone know why this is?

Thanks for coming to the Community.

You can still get the discount even if you study abroad. However, you need to make sure that your account’s country setting matches where you’re studying and you use a payment method issued there.

Keep in mind that you must be in the US to be able to change your country setting to the US.
