f the payment for the student discount shows as pending on your statement, this could explain things: https://support.spotify.com/learn-more/faq/#!/article/pending-charges/.

We use the good folks at SheerID to verify your student credentials. If you’re having trouble signing up, you can submit for manual verification (as a head's up, this can take up to 12 hours to process). For more info, check out SheerID FAQs.
