Stop blaming artists when spammers put them on botted playlists.

Wavr and chartmob have been targetting artists for over three years by putting their tracks on botted playlists. There is absolutely nothing artists can do to prevent this, yet Spotify's only response is to blame the artists, fine their distributors, and get them kicked off the platform. Which is what happened to me.

Only Spotify can stop this scam, so do it and stop blaming artists.

In general, Spotify seems ill equipped to moderate against bots and such. It is an ongoing issue but even Spotify's own community forum suffers this issue. (yes that's right here)

This happened to me! At the end of the year, Spotify accused me of using bots or a paid service to boost my streams, and I NEVER had — yet they removed my song, halting the momentum of my song. Why? So they wouldn’t have to pay me $7 over the course of a year?  I don’t care about the beans I would’ve been paid. I don’t appreciate being accused of something I didn’t do, and having action taken against me regardless of my response. I watched my song slowly build momentum over the year. (Nothing crazy…but it made it over 1,000 streams…the threshold they require to pay an artist). It’s not like it made it to any kind of significance. I wrote my song to help people heal, not make money.  Now my streams are down to like one a week, instead of a dozen every week, internationally. Thanks, Spotify!
