remove sponsored recommendation

It makes no sense for me to pay for the Premium version of the platform and still receive ads and content that are not aligned with my interests.

My preferred musical genres are rock/rap/classical, and the platform frequently recommends songs that are out of context, from unrelated genres, or by unknown artists under the following excuse: “These recommendations are sponsored but match your musical taste.” In addition, it does not even offer a “dislike” option. This is advertising to someone who paid specifically not to have advertising. Furthermore, the service has declined in quality. Spotify used to be praised for its algorithm that truly matched music to the user’s taste. Now you “tilt the balance” to push sponsored songs. As a user, I am disappointed.

When I tried to contact support, there was an attempt to justify the algorithm with arguments such as “there is a song like that in one of your playlists” or “you’ve listened to that genre before.” These are weak and unviable arguments, especially considering the platform has removed the “dislike” option.

I request that the platform return to offering a service that prioritizes user satisfaction rather than “musical pamphleteering".

The algorythm has declined because they replaced a lot of people working on it with AI. I myself have used Spotify for 13 years, but now I'm thinking about switching to Tidal. They're raising prices and trying to justify it by pushing out AI features that noone asked for (and which are terrible).

Today, I had a banner taking up ~1/3 of the window on desktop.  If these ads don't stop, I'm moving my family account to another service.

I complained to support about this and, after re-installing the app, they've made the ads go away.

I feel the same way. I paid for spotify premium in order to see NO Ads, to download my music and to use a very performant application to listen to my music.

What i got instead by now:

Sponsored Ads, An App (mobile) that takes forever to download all my music and a new ui, which leaves my smartphone in a waiting state, once opened, for about 2 Minutes, until i can do anything useful with the app... This experience is terrible.

Also they added that now you are bombed with (youtube video recommendations???????) -> This is a **bleep**ing MUSIC Streaming app!!!!

I even think it is annoying that they push (free) podcasts so much. I get it, that it can be nice to have your podcasts and music in one place. But that way people think they have to pay for listening to those podcasts, which in fact is not the case. Download a open source/free podcast app, search for the podcast and you can listen to it for free without problems.

So probably a lot of people are "wasting" their money on listening podcasts on spotify. If course, this may be in the intentions for spotify since that way the can reduce their own expences. But still it is bad business practice in my opinion.

Also the YouTube Video recommendations annoy me the most. And since i can not even deactivate those or at least dislike stuff i'm not insterested in, the whole app feels more and more like "let's squeeze everything out of it". Maybe switching in the future.

Maybe the spotify team will do some improvements on that?
