Possibility to add friends without Facebook Accounts (Spotify ID)

Hi! I just stumbled across a problem; I have friends who don't have facebook / don't use facebook / who hate facebook.

I tried searching a way to add them as friends so I could send them songs and see their playlists etc, but I was unable to find a solution... 

Suggestion:

- To be able to add friends using their Spotify login ID

- To be able to see their actions in Spotify Social (what they are listening to)

Get it together spotify. I hate facebook, and created a dummy account just to get premium. I was excited to learn that you all now allow premuim accounts w/o a linked facebook account and just went through the trouble of creating a new premium account and copying over my playlists...only to discover that I can't connect with any of my friends. Ridiculous. Use your awesomely agile development team and get this feature added ASAP PLEASE.  Otherwise I will be jumping ship to a platform that allows me to be social w/ my music w/o needing a 3rd party app like facebook.

It's an embarrassment for the Spotify people that they don't solve this. In my case we're five of us paying for Premium, but we can't share lists, as none of us use Fb (and don't intend to).

Hey everyone! You can now find your friends by searching for either their Spotify username or their full name (if their Spotify account is linked to their Facebook).

There is no Spotify community where friends with and without FB accounts can share music and/or playlists, or follow other friends with Spotify Premium accounts. I have tried "searching for my friends" as the comment above suggests but all I get is "no results for ....."

I'm confused... it says that this was implemented? That us non facebook users can now find our facebook friends? It's not working!

@sarahpbee You should be able to search for your friends via their username (without having to type spotify:user:username). Connecting to FB will make it easier to find your friends with just their first and last name (if they have their accounts linked to Facebook).

Mijn account is gekoppeld aan Facebook.

Er staat dat je Facebook-vrienden kunt volgen op Spotify, ik kan er maar een stuk of 6 zien.

Anderen krijg ik niet te zien, ook al typ ik hun naam in bij 'zoek' , er komt GEEN resultaat

Hoe kan ik mijn vrienden van Facebook op Spotify zien en eventueel volgen?
