Am I allowed to generate color palettes based on an album's cover art on my SDA?

My Question or Issue

I am using Spotify's API on a website that allows me to search for albums and generates a color palette based on that album's cover art. The ToS say that your SDA shouldn't create "derivative work" based on Spotify Content and my question is whether color palettes would be classified as such. I don't think they would given that it's just a set of colors, but I wanna make sure it's fine before I make this tool available for anyone else to use (non-commercially).
