Android SDK Auth redirect URI only works if app is installed

My Question or Issue

My Android app is able to authorize users without any problem if the Spotify app is installed using this redirect URI: 

vibecast://callback 

 but if the app is not installed, the user is redirected to a web browser where they can log in, again without any issues but when the user clicks 'Agree' to accept the terms and conditions, they aren't redirected to my app. I checked the console output in the Chrome dev tools and it says: 

Navigation is unreachable:  vibecast://callback/#access_token=.
