My Question or Issue
Dear Spotify Team,
We represent a board game project that incorporates musical elements, and we would like to use the Spotify platform to allow players to listen to and guess songs during gameplay.
We kindly request clarification on the possibility of integrating Spotify through the OAuth authentication system. In this setup, each player would use their own account to listen to music. We do not intend to play music through our account, as all authentication and playback would be handled through the players’ personal accounts, not ours.
Additionally, the game is intended exclusively for use in private settings and will not be used in public venues, such as sports halls, restaurants, or other open spaces. We understand and fully respect Spotify's policies that prohibit the platform's use for public playback.
We would appreciate information on whether we can use the Spotify platform in this format and if we are in compliance with Spotify’s terms of service.
Best regards,
The Project Team

Thank you for your quick response. We have reviewed Spotify's policy and do not intend to violate it. Perhaps the topic for this post was not correctly stated. This is not an integration of Spotify into a mobile application. Each player will only use their own Spotify account. There are examples of board games that use Spotify, such as *Hitster*. Please help us understand how we can do this. Thank you in advance for your response.

Hi,
Did you get a response from Spotify? We are in the Netherlands and we have the same question. So I'm interested if you got any contact with Spotify.
Best regards, Richard
