Building an app to add/play spotify songs with other platforms in a single playlist

Building an app to add/play spotify songs with other platforms in a single playlist

So I have this idea for an app that I think would be really interesting! A lot of people have music that they like to listen to but aren't available on their main platform (ex: song is on soundcloud but not spotify). My idea is to create an app that can add songs from many different services in one playlist that the user can play through our app. We wouldn't be charging anything for using the Spotify API directly, but maybe some features we develop ourselves as "premium features" in the future, or just a small cost for the entire app. We also wouldn't be using the API for streaming songs they wouldn't normally be allowed to listen to through the app, or tampering with the advertising or anything like that. Literally just using it to search and play songs. Would this be something that is allowed under the terms of service?

Hi td0703,

Thanks for sharing your idea! It sounds interesting, but unfortunately, Spotify Developer Policy prohibit creating apps that integrate streams or content from multiple services into one experience. So, combining Spotify content with other platforms in a single playlist would not be allowed.

Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.

Can we build a playlist manager app and allow the users to play the playlist from the app?
