Can't find commercial app integration request?

Can't find commercial app integration request?

Hey,

So much like the title says, I've done some research and figured I would need to request approval from spotify before making commercial use out of my web-based API app. However, while I did find the google forms link from a forum, I can't find the link in the API dashboard itself, which makes me second-guess what should be done and how/where.

Any help appreciated!

I can't find it either. Does the commercial App Integration Request no longer exist?

This process was changed back in May 2021. The way to do this is to submit the quota extension request via the developer dashboard. You can read more about app modes here.

Thank you for your reply.

Questions about Spotify iOS SDK (remote):

1. Does using the SDK require quota extension or is it unlimited use as is?

2. If the answer is "requires quote extension" for 3., would that be allowed for a commercial app (generates revenue)?

Yes, all apps that goes beyond the 25 named users for apps in development mode will need to go through the quota extension request.

As for your question about commercial app, this is a complex area and the only answer I can give is to refer to the Complying with Spotify's developer policy, Spotify Developer Policy and the Developer Terms.

When you fill out the quota extension request form you will be prompted to describe monetization strategies and commercial aspects.

Thank you for your response. However, there seems to be contradictory info about commercial quota extension. My app (using only iOS Remote SDK) quota extension request was rejected for:

  • The Spotify Platform can not be used to develop commercial streaming SDAs

According to Spotify quota review, it seems that the iOS Remote SDK (which is only a streaming SDK) can not be used for commercial apps. And since according Spotify guidelines for quota extension is not allowed for non-commercial projects as well (home automation, school, or hobby projects), does this mean iOS Remote SDK will never be granted quota extension?
