Mac to Iphone local files greyed out

My Question or Issue

I am beyond frustrated, i have been trying to figure out why my local downloads will play on my macbook and not my phone. On the mobile spotify app, my songs that u have downloaded from local files just appear grey and wont let me play it. I have tried everything I could find on the internet; putting songs from local file into a new playlist, same wifi, hotspot, enabling local files and local networks, reinstalling the app, clearing cache, turning these options on and off…IT WONT SYNC. I have been trying to figure this out all day and I think i have grown grey hairs from all the stress this has caused me lol. Someone please help idk what to do i’m loosing my mind, I just want to listen to music man 😞

Since a last update, you have to put them on your phone yourself, and will not sync. This was already always the case on Android, so now also on iOS.

I do not think this is true. I have a many local files on my mac that are not on my iphone but are still playable
