Now that users can view their recently played tracks in the apps...

Now that users can view their recently played tracks in the apps...

Can we list more than 50 of the most recently played tracks of users from our systems, in the API https://developer.spotify.com/documentation/web-api/reference/#endpoint-get-recently-played ?

Currently, it allows us to fetch only the 50 most recent tracks. However, since in the apps, users can now view a much higher number of their tracks played in the past, can't this limitation be relaxed in this API?

Thanks.

same here please, fix this or at least update the docs...... why would you put the before and after parameters if they are limited to 50 tracks????

I'm having the same issue. It would be great if they allowed more than 50 tracks

Nice, I've been struggling with this for a while today and apparently this is how the API works. From the documentation it seems that you could use the cursors before and after to go to the previous/next page but it is not working for me. Has anyone here being able to use the cursors to get more that 50 tracks? Is this already fixed?

Note: the desktop app still doesn't show more than the last 50 recently played tracks.

bump. an improvement to this endpoint would be wonderful

I would also love for this endpoint to be updated to properly allow us to get more than the last 50 songs at a time. Or in the very least I would love for the documentation to be update to make it clear that the endpoint cannot do more than get the last 50 songs. I would also appreciate if someone could explain how web apps like: https://whisperify.net/ and https://receiptify.herokuapp.com/ are able to access way more than the last 50 songs.

@the-scripter

They simply use the Get User's Top Items endpoint.

thank you, @Ximzend

gotcha, I also found contact info for the creator of whisperify.net and he confirmed that the app does indeed just use the get user's top items endpoint.

It's been over 3 years since the initial post, and nothing has changed.

Not even the endpoint's documentation has been updated.

I was using the documentation and it took me days to realize that is simply does not behave as advertised.

Any update on this...?

+1 please incorporate this, or, if you don't want to give access to that type of data, just say so! Thank you!
