My Question or Issue
In the past, when I posted a song link on telegram it displayed preview image, song name, artist name, release date etc.
Now it just shows "Unsupported browser".
The same problem.
Seeing this across platforms, including desktop.
And now it works as expected only if tracking part of the URL is removed (e.g.
/track/1WPHhdufhXlZsGlMw6gAja
instead of
/track/1WPHhdufhXlZsGlMw6gAja?si=d1af321a63e34993
). Also, when it's not working it no longer displays "Unsupported browser" — just does not load any oembed data anymore.
I'm seeing the same thing on all platforms, this was a fairly recent occurrence -- and does not occur with Apple music.
I am from Ukraine. No matter desktop or mobile - have the same issue for about a month + my friends, too.
AlenaOm, removing the tracking part of the URL works fine sometimes (sometimes it doesn't). For a share URL, you can erase the question mark and everything that follows it.
So, for instance, instead of open.spotify.com/track/3zbDuhylYYFTCh58HXfc0c?si=d5f8d1c9a5574192 it would be open.spotify.com/track/3zbDuhylYYFTCh58HXfc0c
(вроде работает, но только если удалить из ссылки вопросительный знак и всё что после него)
The solution above works but only sometimes. I figured out how to make it work each time, here are the steps:
1. Get the link
2. Add "/embed" after ".com" - https://open.spotify.com/embed/track/44ahv3Zj4FOJoy8gJLZF9B?si=a5fa7f8b028849d1
3. If that still doesn't fix it, remove the question mark and everything after it - https://open.spotify.com/embed/track/44ahv3Zj4FOJoy8gJLZF9B?si=a5fa7f8b028849d1
Hope this helps!
for me it's still not working, even with these steps done 😞
+1 here. Removing the part after the questing mark seems to work, but it's too annoying to remove it manually. Seems that it's some weird Spotify UTM behavior that breaks the preview. Does anyone know how to address the issue to Spotify directly?
When sharing a link on telegram, there is no data that gets pulled, giving the received 0 information about what the link is about
e.g.
https://open.spotify.com/episode/4DLfLVgqD4NFZXwE9RuLso?si=VekkHLgOTSqIYxiCOLNSkQ
See below for how it looks on telegram.
Most other platforms like youtube, show a thumbnail, title and description.
Spotify needs this very much as well.
Well, looks like it's broken again - Feb 22, 2023
