Is the raw data of Spotify's listenership open-source?

I'm interested, among other things, in analyzing the geographic footprint of different artists' fan base. 

Does anyone know how one can go about this? Or perhaps help me, I'd be grateful to speak to someone, particularly on the development team at Spotify if you see this. 

And do I need to use the API or is it possible to pull out raw data for Excel?

Unfortunately the data we have at Spotify is not OpenSource as of today. You can access some of it through our APIs: https://developer.spotify.com/documentation/
