Spotify API is frequently down

I've been using Spotify's Web API for my university project for a month. I hadn't experienced any problems with it until a week ago when the API suddenly stopped responding to requests. It was fixed about 12 hours later and functioned well until today when the same problem occurred again. Am I the only one experiencing this problem?

Can you please say which endpoint you are using and how frequently?

This sounds like you're being rate limited. If you send more than 1 request per second to certain endpoints you will get blocked for 12 hours.
