My Question or Issue

I'm unable to create a new App on https://developer.spotify.com/dashboard/create. When i fill in the required fields, select Web API & agree to the terms i get the following error when creating the app:

 

Something went wrong, we were not able to create your app. Please try again later.

 

The POST request to https://api.spotify.com/webapi-provisioning/applications returns a 401 with message "Missing required permission"

 

I tried it in different browsers and on my phone with mobile network. All result in the same error.

 

I've contacted customer support, but they can't help me (he said). He couldn't forward the issue to tech support and he was only general customer support. His advice was to post the problem here since these pages are, according to him, actively monitored.

I can create apps now. The issue resolved itself after a day.

I've the exact same issue. I've previously been able to create an App. I've deleted the previous 2 in case that was somehow affecting but I'm still receiving the same error

I have the same exact same issue I've previously been able to create an App. I've deleted my one for my stream deck to if that was affecting anything but still receiving the same error

I can create apps now. The issue resolved itself after a day.
