embed link, doesn't play the track it jumps to a new web browser

Hello all, 

I have embedded some spotify tracks in a website so people can listen to them directly. 

The embedded link was working as we wanted it, we clicked on the icon and it played in the browser. It seems that the behaviour has changed, now when we click it it opens a new web browser with the album of the artist and doesn't even point to the track and it doesn't start playing either.

How can we revert to the previous behaviour?

basically we just need the play feature in the whole embedded link
