I'm having the same issue. I found out there is a "hidden" setting to turn these off. You have to go ONLINE (not in app) then go to your account settings, find "Privacy" then turn off tailored ads. I just turned it off so I am not 100% sure if it will work but that seems to be the only thing I haven't done yet. I would start there. I would also disable facebook data since when those ads appear it has a link to a facebook page on them for me when I open them.
