Hey @Naxey, thanks for posting here!

Right now, to be able to connect to Cast-devices on a local network, a device from that local network needs to discover it first. That's why you need to play music on a device first. You should still be able to connect to 'regular' Spotify Connect devices, without playing music first.

Let me know if you have any questions about that!

Thanks, happy coding!

Hey,

Thanks for the info 😄

Is there any way for me to discover the device without playing music on it?

My plan is the transfer music which is already playing (on a smartphone) over to a device in my home (google home) but when playing another song on it first that would make transferring the originally playing music over impossible.

Thanks,

Naxey

PS: I'm planning to run the code from HomeAssistant in my home so the device from which the API requests are coming is already local.
