v1/player/me returning 204 incorrectly

My Question or Issue

The v1/me/player APIs are returning 204s when trying to get currently playing data incorrectly. There should be content and there is something playing on a device but the content is still returned. This issue was previously referenced in another thread marked solved, but the issue persists as the actual API itself (outside of iOS related items) is returning this 204 despite items being played continuously, after relaunch of apps and desktop, killing all sessions and reauthenticating, and killing the tokens and reauthenticating. 

I can't isolate any specific cause, but I do notice that some of my users have 0 204s, and others have 100% of their results returning 204s, my account in particular! When I play music continuously, pause or play, wait, etc. anything - it always returns a 204. You can see very quickly in the sample I'm attaching, the 204s drop off to almost 0% very quickly.

Is this a known issue and is being worked on, and if not are their workarounds? I am specifically interested in the API, not in particular a focus of any platform, I'd just like for it to return the data properly and not a 204 when there is indeed content playing.
