Hey @Zai25, thanks for reaching out to the Community!

Let's take a look.

First, check to make sure that you haven't gotten an authorization charge, or a confirmation for your subscription. Make sure that your card is valid, and that it supports recurring transactions.

You can check your bank statements or for an email from Spotify. You can also see if your account has been subscribed to a subscription already here.

Once you've checked and you're still on Free, could you try processing payment using a different browser or private window?

If that doesn't help, follow all payment troubleshooting steps provided in this support article and let me know the outcome for each step. You can also try a different payment method if available.

If you're still having trouble, send me a screenshot of the error message being shown (make sure to hide sensitive info when posting to the Community). And let me know if you're paying for a current Premium subscription, or trying to start a new one.

Let me know how this goes!

Oh my bad, I made a quite big mistake on my first message. My card is Australian but  I am now based in China.. I used to have premium Spotify with another card even while being in China, but now I can't change it... Is there a solution for this?

Hey @Zai25,

Thanks for clearing things up for me.

Since you're in China, and you're using an Australian card, that may be the reason why you're not able to proceed with the payment. This is because your card needs to be issued in the same country registered to your Spotify account.

In your case, you're based in China, so you'd need to use a card that comes from China.

You can change and see what other payment methods you have following these steps

You can also purchase gift cards online, and at select retailers near you. A electronics store or grocery store may have Spotify gift cards available. Once you purchase the gift card, there is more info on how to use and redeem it here.

Additionally, there is more info on changing the country on your account.

I hope this helps! I'll be here if you have any additional questions.
