Can I transfer active gift card subscription to family plan?

I activated a 1 year solo subscription on my account via gift card. The rest of my family wants to upgrade to a family subscription paid monthly. What will happen to the remaining 9 months on my gift card subscription?

I believe the remaining Premium time would be lost as soon as you join a Premium Duo/Family plan. So it's best to wait until your account is back on Spotify Free again 🙂
