Changing country while still paying student plan rates

My Question or Issue

My payment failed so I want to switch to a card that is issued in the UK, however when I try and change the country it asks me to pay the full premium rate, whereas I should be able to pay the student rates? How do I do this?

Hey @mspeer, thanks for reaching out to the Community!

Keep in mind that the country registered on your Spotify account must match the country registered on your payment card. In this case, it sounds like there will be a mismatch in countries which is why you may be seeing the full rate being applied. You can manage your country settings here. 

Once both countries match, you’re able to cancel your subscription following these steps, and then resubscribe to Premium Student after the subscription reverts to Spotify Free. 

You will not lose any saved content or information on your account from changing subscription statuses.
