Duo plan not eligible?

Hello,
I just trialed Spotify and my trial is up a couple days. I'd like to subscribe to the Duo plan for myself and my spouse. But it says I'm not eligible? Do I have to wait until I'm a paid account? I don't want to want to pay for a premium account and then immediately pay for a Duo account.

In this case, it's best to cancel your current subscription (trial) 🙂 You can find the steps on how to do that here.

Once that's done, you can try subscribing to Premium Duo again at https://spotify.com/duo. If it still doesn't work, then you'll have to wait until your trial is over.
