Family Subscription - Giftcard

 Hi,  I gave each of my kids a gift card to put towards a family subscription.  The kids told me the cards can not be used for this account.  I am 60 years old and can not read your tiny print.  I think this is unfair practice.

Thanks for your question.

As per this support article, it is not possible to redeem a gift card in conjunction with other discounts or promotions, including Premium for Family.

However, if your kids are both owners of a Family plan, they can do the following to redeem their gift cards:

1. Cancel their subscriptions
2. Apply the codes to their accounts
3. Resubscribe to Premium for Family and reinvite their Family members

That way, they will have the credit of the gift card applied to their account so that each month the price of the Family plan will be deducted from the amount.

Bear in mind that the amount of Premium time they will now have is inferior to the Premium time they would have had if they were on a standard Premium plan due to the difference in price between the two plans.
