Had to pay twice for spotify premium to work

My Question or Issue

Hello! I got a premium for 6.99€, but it didn't work. I checked the status of my subscription only to see that I still have the free version. Money's gone. So I bought the premium version again and now it works. So basically I had to pay twice and I have no idea why. Could you please enlighten me? Sorry for the trouble!
